V&M’s Teb Jones Makes The Classic through BASS Federation!

Natchitoches, LA December 8, 2014 – V&M is proud to announce a 3rd member of the V&M family is going to the Bassmaster Classic!

“We are overwhelmed with excitement that we have yet another V&M Pro fishing in the Bassmaster Classic!” stated V&M Pro Team manager Mike Pharr. “Teb has worked so hard to accomplish this lifelong dream. In addition to the BASS Federation he has fished as a Pro in the Bassmaster Opens for years. We are very confident he is more than prepared for the competition he is about to face.”

When asked about his journey and what it meant to him, Teb had this to say. “I have so much to say and so many emotions to describe that it is really hard to reduce it to words. Qualifying for the Classic is every angler’s dream. Mine has finally come true.  What started as just a seemingly impossible dream as a very young man has now become a reality. Perseverance is the first word that comes to mind. I began fishing club tournaments as a co-angler in the early 1980’s; I started fishing seriously as a professional angler in 2006.  8 Bass Nation Divisional Championships and 3 Bass Nation National Championships later, I finally got the job done. Since qualifying for the Classic, I have modified the dream…..it is now time to focus on trying to win it all.  The Classic is set up as a winner take all tournament.  You have to approach it that way.”

Jones credited his tournament success to a ¼ oz V&M Pacemaker spinnerbait in the color “Blue Herring”.  The key was slow rolling the smaller profile of the ¼ oz parallel to laydowns.  “I would catch fish behind other boats all day long.”  After he would get a limit he would then flip the laydowns with a V&M Baby Swamp Hog and Wild Thang 6.5.
