Sarasota FL – Uflex USA, a leader in steering and control systems for the marine industry, has gotten involved with the Major League Fishing Market, by partnering with pro angler Gerald Spohrer, just in time for the 2020 tournament season.
Gerald runs a Phoenix 921 Elite paired with a 250 HP Suzuki DF250SS, that is now controlled by Uflex Steering. During tournaments or fishing in general, it’s important to have a reliable, quality system to give you complete control over the boat. Spohrer will now happily rely on Uflex.
“Growing up bass fishing in the bayous of South Louisiana made me understand the importance of a quality steering system,” says Spohrer, “I need something that can keep up with my hardcore demands while on tour and fishing offshore on my newly refurbished saltwater boat, and Uflex is the perfect fit.”
In addition to his busy life on the road traveling as a pro angler, he found some time to take on a rebuild. After finding an old Contender, he repaired, rebuilt and repowered so he could get some time fishing offshore during his time off. He installed the Uflex SilverSteer and Uflex Master Drive and was blown away by the performance. “Gulf fishing can be nerve-racking at times because the fish are hugging closely to offshore oil rigs- the Master Dive allows me to choose the right steering control in order to hover perfectly,” says Spohrer.
