The Blaylock Blog

Hey guys just wrapped up the FLW Tour event on Lake Toho. Ended up finishing 6th overall ! I am very pleased with this finish and hope that it carries over into the rest of the season. This week at Lake Toho I had a pretty mediocre practice. I found a few small areas where I was able to catch them on a Livingston Lures Primetyme 2.0 with the EBS Multi-touch technology.

The best color for getting the most quality bites was Gold Shad. I was throwing this on a 7’1 medium 13 Fishing Envy Black Crankenstein with a 13 Fishing Concept E 6:6.1 reel. I was fishing current breaks in canals and the Crankenstein was just short enough that I could make short accurate casts into the breaks and around coverage. I also caught a few each day on a Carolina Rigged Gary Yamamoto D Shad in Watermelon Red on shell beds. I was throwing this on a 7’6 heavy 13 Fishing Envy Black with at 13 Fishing Concept E 7:3.1 reel where I could make long cast but also get the proper hook set at longer distances.

I used 12lb and 20lb Seaguar Invizx Fluorocarbon line for both techniques. Although these are not normal fishing patterns for Florida lakes sometimes you have to think outside the box to get the results you want.
