2015 WON Bass U.S. Open Starts Monday

Las Vegas, Nev. – September 12, 2014 – For the 33rd time, the WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury U.S. Open of Bass Fishing will be contested on the waters of Lake Mead starting Monday September 14. For the fourth straight year, the Costa Live Show will bring all the action of the most prestigious tournament in the West on wonbass.com

The U.S. Open will once again gather a record number of competitors as 168 pros and their AAA partners will compete in the three day event out of Lake Mead’s Callville Bay Marina. Despite the record participation numbers, the field will be without several stalwart competitors including two-time winner John Murray, three-time champion Aaron Martens and three-time winner and defending champion Clifford Pirch. Those and several other perennial contenders are competing in the final Bassmaster Elite Series event of the year.

While those past champions will be missed, the 2015 field includes an impressive list of anglers. Along with past champions Rusty Brown, Rich Tauber and Justin Kerr. Along with those past U.S. Open champions; the field includes FLW Tour pros, as well as prominent regional pros that are sure to provide plenty to talk about.

Tournament takeoff will occur at Callville Bay Marina Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday beginning at 5:45AM, with daily weigh-ins starting at 2:00PM. Following the event’s conclusion on Wednesday, a champion will be crowned at Boulder Station Casino the final evening of the event and awarded the keys to a 2015 Nitro Z8 Boat and Mercury ProXS 200 outboard.

The WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open See What’s Out There Live Webcasts presented by Costa Sunglasses will begin with a pregame show from the Boulder Station Casino from the Sponsor Showcase and mandatory partner pairing meeting. Daily event coverage will begin following tournament take off with hourly updates at 9:00AM each day, followed by weigh-in coverage beginning at 2:00PM and finally post game show the live broadcast schedule is as follows all show times are Pacific Standard Time.
