Tackle Tuesday
In this weeks Tackle Tuesday feature Keith Combs shares his go-to punch rig. It’s a Strike King 1 1/4 ounce tungsten weight, 4’0-5’0 Hack Attack flipping hook, Strike King rodent, a punch skirt w/ a hard collar, and a rubber peg it to peg the weight.
1. Application- I use this set up when a jig will not penetrate the cover.
2. Modifications- leave a small space (about 1/8 inch) between the hard collar and the weight. This will give the bait a rattle when you shake it. Color the braided line about 3-4 up with a green marker.
3. Recommended Tackle- Power Tackle PG104.5
65 lb Seaguar Smackdown
Shimano Metanium

Sprague will be fishing his second season as a professional on the FLW circuit. In his 2014 rookie season he finished 47th in overall points standings. Sprague has past experience from his guide business and as a professional fisherman using Bass Kandi Baits. He states, “Bass Kandi Baits is a well known secret in east Texas and Louisiana but is gaining popularity throughout the country. The durability and action of these plastics is on point. I love the fact that I can control the speed of the jig and feel the vibration, which makes a difference when fishing. I’m excited to partner with an American made plastic company like Bass Kandi Baits and help spread the word of how good these baits are to fish.”
Bass Kandi Baits’ owner Mike Holland is thrilled to have Sprague join the growing pro-staff team. On this new addition, Holland says, “It’s an honor to have a hard working man like Jeff represent our company values on and off the tournament trail. On the co-angler side, Jeff has proven he has the ability to fish at a high level. We believe he can transfer that knowledge and success to the front of the boat.”
